Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has made the final 10-man shortlist for
the 2023 CAF Men’s Player of the Year.
This was confirmed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) via their official X platform on Friday.
His Napoli teammate, Frank Zambo-Anguissa, Vincent Aboubacar, Riyad Mahrez, Mohamed Salah and Achraf Hakimi are also on the shortlist.
Other nominees are, Sadio Mane, Yassine Bounou, Sofyan Amrabat and Yousef En-Nesyri.
CAF had released a a 30-man shortlist for the award two weeks ago.
The list will still be cut down to three before the award ceremony.
Osimhen is the huge favourites to claim the award following a superb 2022/23 campaign for Napoli.
The Nigeria international scored 26 goals in 32 league appearances to help the Partenopei win their first league title in over three decades.
The 24-year-old registered five more goals in the UEFA Champions League.
The striker was also top scorer in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series with 10 goals.
