Jasmine Okafor, the daughter of the renowned actor John Okafor, widely known as Mr. Ibu, has confirmed that her father’s leg has been amputated.
Earlier, social media activist Very Dark Man disclosed that Mr. Ibu’s leg had been amputated, alleging that the actor’s family, friends, and close ones had betrayed him during his illness and abandoned him when he needed their support.
Jasmine has now officially confirmed this development through a press statement on her Instagram page. She revealed that one of her father’s legs had to be amputated as part of his treatment, and he has undergone seven successful surgeries.
In her statement, Jasmine expressed their profound gratitude to everyone who has supported her father during this challenging time. She acknowledged the immense assistance they have received and emphasized that only the grace of the Lord could adequately thank those who had provided help.
She also emphasized that Mr. Ibu is still in a delicate stage of recovery, and they continue to seek support from well-meaning Nigerians. They have had to accept the amputation as a necessary step to save his life.
Jasmine concluded by thanking everyone for their support and assured that once her father stabilizes, he will personally acknowledge and thank everyone who has stood by him during this period.

Just a few days ago, Mr. Ibu had provided an update on his health, informing the public that he had undergone five successful surgeries.
In an expression of gratitude to the public, he shared an appreciation post, mentioning that he was still in the ICU, awaiting stabilization for a planned overseas trip to receive advanced treatment.
Last month, We had reported that Mr. Ibu, who is currently hospitalized, had appealed to the public for assistance as he confronted an ailment that posed the risk of amputation.
Notably, Nigerian music sensations Davido and P-Square, along with the popular personality Tunde Ednut, had come forward to offer their support by covering the medical expenses of the legendary actor.
Additionally, former Senate President Bukola Saraki had cleared his medical bills through his foundation.
