Cristiano Ronaldo will be absent from Portugal’s upcoming friendly match against Sweden, as head coach Roberto Martinez adjusts his squad.
Initially included in Martinez’s 32-man squad for the game, Ronaldo has been omitted from the final selection, alongside Diogo Dalot, Joao Cancelo, Danilo Pereira, Otavio, Ruben Neves, Vitinha, and Joao Felix.
According to ESPN, these players have been rested for the friendly fixture.
Ronaldo, who is currently on vacation with his family in Saudi Arabia, has been granted some time off, as the Saudi Pro League is on pause for the international break.
The 39-year-old recently played a full 90 minutes for Al-Nassr and is now taking valuable rest before another demanding summer ahead.
