Nigerian singer and rapper Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, recently recounted a harrowing experience he had while driving on the Lekki-Epe expressway.
In what he described as one of the craziest moments of his life, Skales revealed that a young girl suddenly ran onto the expressway, and despite his efforts to avoid her, he collided with her. The impact was so intense that he saw her body fly over, and he feared the worst.
Overwhelmed with shock and concern, Skales quickly parked his vehicle and sought help from bystanders to assist the injured girl. Amidst his confusion and distress, he feared that he had taken a life. However, he managed to get the girl to the hospital, where medical professionals assured him that she would recover.
Expressing relief and gratitude for the girl’s safety, Skales emphasized the urgent need for the government to address the issue of pedestrians crossing expressways, which poses significant risks to both motorists and pedestrians alike.
Skales’s ordeal serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers inherent in Nigeria’s roadways and the importance of implementing measures to enhance safety for all road users. His plea for government intervention underscores the critical need for infrastructure improvements and public safety initiatives to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
