‘Nigeria, We Hail Thee’ Is a Better National Anthem – Brymo
Controversial singer Brymo has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law, reinstating the old anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”
Brymo highlighted that the reintroduced anthem boasts superior lyrics in both content and context.
On his Instagram account, Brymo wrote: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is officially my G.O.A.T. of all-time Nigerian presidents.
“Read the lyrics of the new national anthem; the first stanza is all you need. It asserts Nigeria as the ‘motherland,’ allowing Africa to be the fatherland and symbolizing unity. This enables us to focus on a single family unit.
“And my favorite part: ‘In brotherhood, we stand.’ We are now members of the greatest brotherhood on earth. Nigeria is now the ultimate brotherhood every boy and ambitious girl must belong to in this country! I am very happy!”
DAILY POST reports that President Bola Tinubu signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, reinstating the old anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”
However, celebrities such as Kate Henshaw, comedian Igosave, and singer Joeboy have criticized the Federal Government for prioritizing the national anthem change over addressing the numerous challenges facing the country.
