Mr Ibu undergoes a second leg amputation and experiences a loss of voice

It is a challenging period for fans, admirers, and the family of the ailing actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, as he undergoes another leg amputation, leading to a loss of his ability to speak.

The veteran actor recently had a part of the same leg that was initially amputated removed after undergoing another surgery. His health has reportedly deteriorated to the extent that he can hardly communicate.

Dr. Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), shared an update on Mr Ibu’s health, stating that the actor has undergone another leg amputation and is now struggling with speech.

“We are resigning to fate concerning the two actors. As I speak with you, Mr Ibu hardly talks again, and he has undergone another leg amputation. You will shed tears if you see Amaechi Muonagor now; his legs are completely paralyzed. I’m calling on all fans and well-wishers of the actor to join hands with other philanthropic Nigerians to support him in this dire time.”

In October, Mr Ibu sought public help as he battled an ailment that could potentially lead to amputation. Davido, P-Square, Tunde Ednut, and former Senate President Bukola Saraki, among others, offered financial assistance. However, despite multiple successful surgeries, his health challenges persist, leading to the recent leg amputation.

Amidst his health struggles, there have been reports of chaos within his family, including public disputes over donation funds, with allegations of financial mismanagement and disputes over the actor’s care.

The situation remains challenging, and the family and fans are grappling with the actor’s deteriorating health.
