“Women Have Dealt with Me in My Career… but the Best Times Are Always When There’s Peace at Home” — Davido Reflects on Personal Growth

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido (David Adeleke) recently opened up about the emotional toll fame and complicated relationships once had on him and how marriage has become his anchor for peace and stability.

Speaking candidly on the Breakfast Club podcast, Davido acknowledged how the drama surrounding his relationships significantly affected his professional life. “Women have dealt with me in my career,” he admitted, reflecting on how personal entanglements often led to turmoil behind the scenes.

Despite his wealth and fame, Davido revealed that true peace doesn’t come from money. “I don’t care how much money someone has I’ve made it all. But there’s nothing like sleeping and waking up without your heart racing to check your phone. That’s real peace,” he shared

This sense of calm, Davido confessed, is tougher to maintain when personal life is in disarray.

A major turning point in Davido’s life, he said, was tying the knot with his longtime partner, Chioma Rowland. Married since June 2024, Davido said the union has grounded him and brought clarity to his priorities

He even recalled an awkward but telling conversation with his team:

“They said, ‘Boss, we’re not having fun anymore. You’ve changed. Where are the girls?’ I replied, ‘Where are the girls? When I get into trouble, everyone runs away and leaves me to deal with the internet alone.’”
Through marriage, he affirmed, he has traded chaos for constancy

Beyond the Spotlight: A Focus on Inner Peace

Davido now sees his home and mental wellness as non-negotiables. He stressed that no level of success — even one as stratospheric as his can ever replace the security of inner peace and a loving foundation at home.

Davido’s reflections offer a rare window into the soul behind the superstar. From turbulent highs to newfound domestic peace, his journey underscores a universal truth: fulfillment isn’t found in accolades, but in a peaceful home and a heart at rest.
