UCL: Arsenal boring team, you deserve to win – Alex Ferguson texts PSG president
Legendary Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, criticized Arsenal’s style of football in a text message to the president of Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
L’Equipe reports that the SMS was sent after PSG defeated the Gunners via a penalty shoot-out in Saturday’s Champions League final.
Ferguson also told Al-Khelaifi that his team “deserved” to retain their title.
“Nasser, this is Alex Ferguson. Well done, it was a tough night for you, but you played against a boring team that did nothing but defend,” Ferguson reportedly said in the text message.
“Enjoy your holidays, you deserve it.”
During his stint in charge of Manchester United, Ferguson won the Champions League twice.
