“He is a great player, I have no doubts about that,” Mourinho told Canal 11. “At Sporting, the system either depended on him or was adapted to him – I’m not sure what Hugo Viana and Rúben Amorim’s initial plan was.
“He has great potential, but obviously in England he will face stronger teams. Still, he’s a top-quality player.
“Unfortunately, among the thousands of lies told during the transfer market, one of them was that he was coming to Fenerbahçe.”
