Portable Rejects Petition from Jigan Babaoja Over Alleged Mockery Song

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has once again made headlines this time for refusing to accept a petition reportedly sent by actor and comedian Jigan Babaoja.

According to reports, the petition relates to Portable’s recent song, which allegedly mocked Jigan Babaoja. The letter, delivered to the singer by a representative, was meant to formally address the issue and possibly initiate legal or mediation proceedings.

However, in a dramatic twist, Portable allegedly declined to acknowledge or sign the document. Eyewitness accounts claim the street-pop artiste instructed the delivery personnel to “return it to the sender,” making it clear he had no interest in engaging with the matter.

The incident has since gone viral on social media, with videos and commentary flooding platforms like Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). While some netizens criticized Portable for dismissing what could be a legal matter, others praised him for his audacity, calling it “classic Portable behavior.”

Jigan Babaoja, known for his witty roles in Nollywood and comedic skits, has yet to issue a public response to the singer’s refusal. The tension between the two celebrities has been brewing in recent weeks, with the song in question sparking debates over artistic freedom, satire, and respect in the entertainment industry.

Whether this spat will escalate into a legal battle or fade away in the fast-moving world of Nigerian celebrity drama remains to be seen. But one thing is certain Portable continues to live up to his reputation as one of the most unpredictable figures in the Nigerian music scene.
