‘I Plan to Adopt Kids if I’m Still Single at 35’ – Singer Selena Gomez reveals
American singer and actress Selena Gomez has revealed her plans to adopt children if she remains single at 35.
The 31-year-old conceived this plan after staying single for five years before entering a relationship with producer and songwriter Benny Blanco last year.
In a recent interview with Time Magazine, the former Disney star discussed her initial struggles with loneliness and what eventually helped her feel better about not being in a relationship.
“I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it,” she said. “A lot of people are afraid of being alone, and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it. Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.”
Gomez mentioned that her current relationship with Blanco happened when she least expected it. She confirmed they were dating in December 2023.
Prior to this, Gomez dated The Weeknd for a brief 10 months in 2017 and was previously involved in a years-long, on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber.
