EPL: Tony Adams Reveals Striker Arsenal Should Have Signed Over Gyokeres

Arsenal legend Tony Adams believes the club made a mistake by signing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP instead of going for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
The Gunners secured Gyokeres in the summer transfer window despite long-standing links to Watkins. Speaking during an Indo Sport season preview, as quoted by Metro UK, Adams expressed doubts over the Portuguese league’s top scorer.
“The Portuguese lad [Gyokeres], I don’t know yet. He’s not tried and tested,” Adams said. “I would have liked to have seen them get Ollie Watkins, to be honest with you. He is a Gooner — he might have given us a year and we might have won the title.”
Arsenal kick off their Premier League campaign this weekend with a high-profile clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
