Drama as Arsenal hijack Tottenham’s move for Eberechi Eze after Havertz injury

Arsenal have reportedly stepped in to hijack Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.
According to The Athletic, the Gunners are keen on signing the 27-year-old midfielder following the knee injury sustained by Kai Havertz, which is still being assessed.
Tottenham and Palace were believed to be close to finalising a deal after Eze had agreed personal terms with Spurs. However, Arsenal are now pushing to secure his signature as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
Eze, who once came through Arsenal’s Hale End Academy, is said to prefer a return to the Emirates. Reports suggest manager Mikel Arteta has already held talks with the player, but it remains to be seen whether the Gunners can win the transfer battle this summer.
