Osimhen, Kvaratskhelia top UCL Man of The Match rankings

Victor Osimhen and his former Napoli teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are joint-top of the leaderboard for the most Man of the Match awards won in this season’s UEFA Champions League, with four each, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Despite Galatasaray’s elimination by Liverpool FC in the round of 16, Osimhen remains among the competition’s standout performers as Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal FC prepare to face off in the final on May 30 in Budapest.

Osimhen won his first Man of the Match award during Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool on September 30, 2025, when his penalty proved decisive at RAMS Park.

He claimed his second award in a 3-1 win over Bodø/Glimt on October 22, 2025, further boosting Galatasaray’s qualification hopes, before earning his third accolade after scoring a hat-trick against AFC Ajax on November 5, 2025.

His fourth came in a 3-2 defeat to Juventus FC in the second leg of their playoff tie, where his goal helped seal Galatasaray’s progression into the round of 16.

Kvaratskhelia, meanwhile, has been influential for PSG in recent weeks, earning his latest award in their 2-0 win over Liverpool in the quarter-finals.

The Georgian winger also claimed two awards in PSG’s double-header against Chelsea FC in March, while his first came during a 4-0 victory over Atalanta BC on September 17, 2025.

With the finalists confirmed, Kvaratskhelia still has the opportunity to move ahead of his former teammate, while Declan Rice, who has three awards, could also draw level.

Rice earned his first Man of the Match award in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Bayern Munich on November 26, 2025. He added another in the 2-0 victory against Bayer Leverkusen on March 17 before picking up his latest honour in the semi-final second leg against Atlético Madrid.

Osimhen enjoyed an outstanding European campaign, registering seven goals and three assists in 10 Champions League appearances.

Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia were both instrumental in Napoli’s Serie A title-winning campaign in 2022/23, helping the club secure their first league crown in 33 years.

Osimhen finished as the league’s top scorer with 26 goals, while Kvaratskhelia was named Serie A Player of the Year after recording 12 goals and 10 assists.

Both players have since left Napoli. Kvaratskhelia completed a €70m move to PSG in January 2025, while Osimhen joined Galatasaray in a €75m deal in 2025 following an initial loan spell.
