Nigerian sprinter Favour Ofili has officially confirmed her switch of international allegiance to Turkey.
The 22-year-old made the announcement in a statement shared via her social media pages, describing the move as part of a new chapter in her athletic career.
“Wrapping up my 2025 season has been a whirlwind of new experiences and big decisions. As some of you have heard, I’m also starting a new chapter representing Turkey,” Ofili wrote.
Her decision comes after years of alleged neglect and administrative lapses from the Nigerian Olympic Committee and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria.
Reports suggest that Ofili will become eligible to represent Turkey in international competitions starting from 2027.
