Transfer Twist: Tottenham Poised to Hijack Chelsea’s Pursuit of Xavi Simons

According to BILD, the 22-year-old midfielder has arrived in London for transfer talks amid growing uncertainty over his next destination.

Simons, valued at around £60 million, was one of Chelsea’s early summer targets. However, the Blues now risk losing him to their London rivals as Spurs push aggressively for his signature.

Leipzig officials have confirmed that the Dutch international has been “released until further notice for future discussions.”

Although Tottenham have not yet tabled a formal bid, they have already opened talks with Leipzig. Spurs boss Thomas Frank is keen to strengthen his midfield options after long-term injuries to James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski left the squad short of creativity.

If successful, the deal would represent a major transfer blow to Chelsea while giving Tottenham a much-needed boost ahead of the new season.
