FIFA orders club to be relegated for match fixing
The Football Kenya Federation, FKF, have confirmed the relegation of a Kenyan club, Muhoroni Youth.
This decision comes after FIFA found the second-tier team guilty of match manipulation.
It is the latest scandal to hit football in the East African country, which has long been plagued by match-fixing.
On Friday, FIFA announced that it had found Muhoroni Youth âguilty of activities related to the manipulation of football matches and competitionsâ.
The world football governing body have now expelled the clubâs senior team from the FKFâs second-tier National Super League.
They have been ordered to play in the third-tier Division One League next season.
The FKF, in response, said it âfully supports FIFAâs decisionâ.
FKF also reiterated âits zero-tolerance stance on match-fixing and all forms of manipulation that threaten the integrity of the gameâ.
