Nigerian/British actor Damson Idris appreciates his mother for flying from Lagos to Los Angeles for his award ceremony

Nigerian born British actor Danson Idris took to the stage of the NAACP awards upon winning the category for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series in the series SnowFall, to thank his mother for flying seventeen hours from Lagos, Nigeria to Los Angeles in order to attend the award show. He made a joke about his mother and said she had told him that if she comes to Los Angeles, he must win, and he did in the end.

Damson Idris may have been born and raised in the U.K, but he has always claimed his Nigerian roots proudly, with both parents being Nigerian, and he has put Nigeria on the map as one of the most outstanding actors of his time.

In terms of movie portfolios, Damson Idris has an impressive collection to his name, as he has featured in a lot of amazing movies. His most prominent role was in the series SnowFall, in which he played the role of Franklin Saint. He has also featured in movies like Farming, Outside the wire, Astral, and a host of other movies.

Apart from being a prolific actor, Damson Idris is also one of Hollywood’s heartthrobs, with a huge female fan base of admirers. He also managed to snag one of Hollywood’s favorite Lori Harvey, and they dated for a while until their breakup in 2023.

Damson Idris is among the many Nigerians who have found their place in Hollywood, and are making names for themselves. Some of those actors include; Chiwetel Ojiofor, John Boyega, David Oyelowo, Uzu Aduba, and a host of others that are doing well in Hollywood.
