Nigerian comedian, Bovi Ugboma, has shared his thoughts on the viral video depicting a female student of Lead British School bullying her classmate.
In a post on his Instagram page, Bovi expressed joy that there are still well-raised children in Nigeria who exhibit qualities of softness, meekness, and civility, even in the face of extreme provocation. He commended the victim for maintaining her composure despite the ordeal she faced.
While acknowledging the relative’s act of slapping the bully out of fury, Bovi emphasized that resorting to physical violence is not a civil response. He called for authorities to address the issue decisively and urged counseling for the bullied girl to prevent any potential trauma.
Bovi emphasized the importance of breaking the cycle of violence and instilling values of non-violence and civility in children from an early age. He urged for a shift away from jungle justice and towards a more civilized approach to conflict resolution.
His message resonates with the need for a holistic approach to addressing bullying and promoting a culture of respect and empathy in Nigerian schools.
