“Peller, Please Invest In Bitcoin” — Advice That’s Funnier Than It Sounds, Once You Know His History

Someone recently sat Peller down with some well-meaning financial advice: invest in Bitcoin. Simple enough on the surface except for anyone who’s actually followed Peller’s track record with cryptocurrency, this suggestion lands as one of the funniest pieces of advice anybody could possibly give him.

Why This Advice Hits Different

Here’s the thing: Peller has already made his stance on Bitcoin crystal clear, and it wasn’t exactly enthusiastic. In a widely viral moment, media personality Father DMW once asked Peller to drop his wallet address so a friend could send him some Bitcoin as a gift. Without missing a beat, Peller flatly refused insisting he doesn’t even have a wallet, and firmly declaring that Bitcoin is closely associated with fraud, specifically the kind linked to “Yahoo Yahoo” internet scam culture in Nigeria. He stood his ground even after people around him tried to explain otherwise, eventually insisting the money simply be sent to his regular UBA bank account instead.

The clip made him something of an internet folk hero at the time, with fans jokingly crowning him a “real village man” for staying grounded and skeptical in the face of crypto trends, and some even praising his instinct given how closely Bitcoin has become associated with online fraud culture in parts of Nigeria’s internet economy.

So Telling Him To “Invest In Bitcoin” Now Is Bold

Given that history, whoever walked up to Peller with fresh advice to put his money into Bitcoin was either unaware of his very public stance, or fully aware and doing it purely for the reaction. Either way, it’s the kind of suggestion that’s almost guaranteed to be met with the same firm, amused resistance he’s shown before Peller has made it abundantly clear that when it comes to his money, he trusts his bank account over blockchain wallets.

Peller’s Actual Money Moves Tell A Different Story

Ironically, Peller hasn’t exactly been shy about big financial wins lately just not through crypto. He’s received massive livestream gifts, including a reported ₦200 million-plus surprise from an anonymous Chinese gifter and a separate 25 million coin gift worth roughly $243,000 from a supporter known as Mafian. He’s used some of that momentum to acquire a ₦350 million mansion in Lekki, a new Mercedes-Benz, and, more recently, spent big on his own wedding to Jarvis all seemingly funnelled through very traditional means rather than digital currency.

Wahala Network Take

Someone telling Peller to “please invest in Bitcoin” without knowing his history is setting themselves up for the same firm, no-nonsense response Father DMW got and if they do know his history, then this was pure comedy bait from the jump. Either way, don’t hold your breath waiting for Peller’s wallet address anytime soon. He’s a UBA account man through and through.
