Amid all the chaos swirling around the Peter Okoye, Jude Okoye, and VeryDarkMan saga with Phyno’s name getting dragged into the drama as an alleged (and denied) scam victim the rapper himself was somewhere else entirely, living his best unbothered life in the club.
What’s Actually Going On With The “Worship” Clip
A viral clip has been circulating showing Phyno on the dancefloor, surrounded by a rowdy, hands-in-the-air crowd, with fans jokingly captioning it as him “leading worship” a callback to his 2016 hit “Fada Fada,” a track affectionately nicknamed the “Ghetto Gospel” thanks to its gospel-style hook, which has long doubled as an unofficial club anthem whenever it drops. It’s a running joke among his fans: whenever “Fada Fada” plays and the crowd erupts with that same raised-hands energy people usually reserve for actual church, someone inevitably jokes that “Na Phyno lead worship today” a bit that’s resurfaced repeatedly since the song first blew up.
This latest round of the joke, though, is landing with extra irony given everything currently happening around him in the news.
Why Phyno’s Name Is Even In This Conversation
For context, Phyno recently found himself pulled into the P-Square family dispute without his consent. According to VeryDarkMan, Peter Okoye had privately told him during a lengthy meeting that Phyno had also been defrauded by Jude Okoye and would testify as a witness in the ongoing legal battle. When VDM later brought this up directly to Phyno, the rapper reportedly denied ever being scammed by Jude, said he hadn’t spoken to Peter in years, and asked VDM to call Peter immediately to clear up the confusion a moment VDM has since described as the point his confidence in Peter’s full account began to waver.
Unsurprisingly, Phyno himself has stayed completely out of the public back-and-forth, letting VDM and Peter handle the claims and denials while he continues about his business which, based on this viral club clip, apparently includes commanding a full congregation on the dancefloor.
