Marseille consider Nnadi January exit

Olympique Marseille could sell or loan Super Eagles midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi during the January transfer window as the French club look to address their financial situation.
According to Get French Football News, as reported by Afrik-Foot, Marseille are open to parting ways with the Nigerian, who is not considered indispensable by the club’s coaching staff.
Nnadi, 23, joined the Ligue 1 side from Belgian club Zulte Waregem for €6m during the winter transfer window and made eight appearances in his first half-season in France.
However, his limited opportunities have raised questions about his future, with a permanent transfer or temporary departure reportedly being considered.
Afrik-Foot also reported that Marseille are under scrutiny from French football’s financial watchdog, the DNCG, after failing to satisfy its financial requirements in June.
The club is required to balance its books before June 2027, with failure potentially resulting in sporting sanctions, including points deductions.
A permanent sale could help Marseille generate funds, although interested clubs may be reluctant to meet their valuation of the midfielder. A loan move therefore remains a possibility if a suitable transfer fee cannot be agreed.
Nnadi’s opportunities have been limited, with his start in Marseille’s 5-2 victory over Angers reportedly coming amid injuries to other players. He registered two key passes, 58 touches and won five duels in the match, according to Afrik-Foot.
A January move could provide the midfielder with more regular playing time, an important consideration as he seeks to strengthen his position in the Super Eagles setup.
For Nigeria, securing consistent minutes at club level would be valuable as the national team continues preparations for upcoming international engagements.
However, Nnadi’s next destination remains uncertain, with Marseille yet to confirm a decision on his future.
