Iceking Ochacho, son of real estate mogul King Ochacho, has revealed that his musical inspiration traces directly back to Afrobeats icon Wizkid a revelation that’s landing at a particularly interesting moment in his young career.
Who Is Iceking Ochacho?
For those just catching up, Iceking born from Otukpo, Benue State started freestyling and rapping at just seven years old, quickly developing a sound that blends Afrobeat, hip-hop, rap and dancehall. His breakthrough came when a freestyle video of his went viral, catching the attention of producers and fans well beyond Nigeria’s borders and earning him the nickname “Wonder Kid” from admirers. Since then, he’s released several singles, including “E Choke” and a remix of “Ochacho Money” featuring Teni, and has already shared the stage with major names like Davido, Peruzzi, LadiPoe, D’banj, Zlatan and 2Baba. Davido himself gave the young star an early co-sign back in 2021, praising his potential to become “the new kid on the block.”
