With Osun State barreling toward one of its most consequential governorship elections in years, Davido has once again waded straight into the political trenches and this time, he did it with a punchline sharp enough to go viral within minutes.

Ahead of Saturday’s election, the All Progressives Congress rolled out serious political firepower for its governorship campaign mega rally in Osogbo. Former Osun governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, took to X to formally welcome the party’s heavyweights to the state Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna, several other governors, and APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, among other party leaders and dignitaries.
Rather than let the show of force go unanswered, Davido quote-tweeted Oyetola’s post with a line that’s since taken over Nigerian timelines: “If you like gather Jesus 12 disciples o ma LULE for the 3rd time.” Translated loosely, his point was blunt even if APC assembled the biblical apostles themselves for the rally, the outcome of Saturday’s vote would go the same way regardless.
