Druski Under Fire Again: Tells Nigerian Musician To “Get Away” Right After He Reveals His Nationality
American comedian Druski is trending in Nigeria yet again and not for the reasons he’d probably like. A clip from his ongoing Coulda Been Records tour has gone viral, showing the comedian abruptly telling a Nigerian musician to “get away” almost immediately after the artist revealed where he was from, sparking a fresh wave of backlash online.
What Happened On Stage
The moment comes from Druski’s Coulda Been Records series the satirical talent-show format he’s run since 2019, where aspiring musicians and performers “audition” in front of him for a fictional record deal, often getting comedically roasted or dismissed by Druski in the process as part of the bit. It’s a format that’s toured cities across the US and internationally, complete with celebrity guest judges and packed arena crowds.
In the clip now circulating, a Nigerian artist stepped up to perform and, as part of his introduction, mentioned that he was from Nigeria. Almost immediately, and without giving any real reason, Druski reportedly told him to “get away,” cutting the moment short. The abruptness of the dismissal landing right after the artist’s nationality was mentioned is exactly what triggered the backlash, with many online reading it as pointed rather than a random part of the bit.
