## How We Handle Corrections


When we receive a credible correction request, we may review:

If an error is confirmed, we may correct the article and, where appropriate, explain the correction.




## Types of Corrections



### Minor correction


Typos, spelling errors or small factual mistakes that don't materially affect the story may be corrected without a formal correction notice.




### Significant correction


A material factual error that could mislead readers may result in a visible correction note.




### Retraction


In exceptional circumstances, an article may be substantially revised, unpublished or retracted when the information cannot reasonably be supported.
