Big 5 Construct Nigeria Returns to Showcase Solutions for $54bn Construction Sector

Big 5 Construct Nigeria, the country’s largest construction event, is set to showcase products and solutions for Nigeria’s construction industry, which is projected to expand on the $54bn output recorded in 2025.

The sixth edition of the event will hold at the Landmark Centre and feature more than 165 exhibitors from over 20 countries, with organisers expecting more than 10,000 contractors, developers, architects, engineers and other built-environment professionals in attendance.

According to a statement, the event returns to Lagos from September 22 to 24, showcasing solutions covering building interiors and finishes, concrete and cement, construction tools, personal protective equipment, digital construction technologies, mechanical, electrical and plumbing services, heavy construction equipment, marble and stone, metal, steel and aluminium systems, modular construction, urban design, landscaping, windows, doors and façades.

Nigeria’s construction output stood at about $54bn in 2025, according to Market Research and ResearchAndMarkets, with the sector projected to grow by 3.1 per cent in 2026 and record an average annual growth rate of 3.2 per cent between 2027 and 2030.

Growth Drivers

The organisers said sustained investment in infrastructure, housing, and industrial and manufacturing development would underpin this growth.

They added that the Federal Government’s plan to establish Building Materials Manufacturing Hubs across the country under the Renewed Hope Agenda would strengthen local production and supply chains, while also supporting efforts to lower construction costs.

Senior Vice President at dmg events, Josine Heijmans, said the exhibition would connect Nigerian construction companies and authorities with international suppliers and industry leaders.

Big 5 Construct Nigeria provides an opportunity to connect the companies and authorities driving this growth with an international network of suppliers and industry leaders, supporting the exchange of knowledge and business relationships that can contribute to the country’s construction ambitions, aligned with Nigeria’s National Development Plan,” Heijmans said.

International Participation

The exhibition will draw brands from countries including Germany, India, Spain, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates. Featured exhibitors include Saint-Gobain, Sika, Asian Paints, Bosch, Uniflo – Al Shihhi Industry, SPG Nigeria and Abumet.

Big 5 Talks: Industry Sessions and Speakers

The event will also feature Big 5 Talks, comprising more than 25 Continuing Professional Development-certified sessions covering architecture, design, cost and commercial management, project management, sustainable building materials and façades.

These sessions will address practical challenges across the construction project lifecycle, including project delivery, digital adoption, cost management, fit-out and finishes, and sustainable building practices.

Registrar and Secretary to Council of the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria, Bldr Adetunji Adeniran, will speak on advanced project delivery strategies for high-risk environments, covering risk management, project governance and oversight.

Creative Director at CraftsPhile Studios, Gabriel Oyekunle, will examine the adoption of Building Information Modelling in non-BIM environments. Also speaking, Customer Success Manager at RIB Software, Engr Thabang Chitja, will discuss how digital project controls and real-time data can enhance cost visibility, risk management and overall project performance.

Head of CDK Integrated Industries, Abimbola Onagbade, will address how developers can balance cost, quality and timelines, while Director of Education and Certification at the Green Building Council of Nigeria, Arc. Emmanuel Falude, will explore the business case for green buildings, including asset value, operational savings and sustainable investment.
