# Ajayi battles Iwobi, Bassey in EPL as Awaziem tackles Orban in Turkey

Three Super Eagles players will line up against one another in the English Premier League on Saturday (today), while two more will face off in Turkey in a clash of compatriots, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

At Craven Cottage, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey will turn out for Fulham against Hull City, whose defence will be marshalled by Semi Ajayi.

Fulham are bottom of the table with two points from six matches. Iwobi has created 13 chances in the league this season, more than any other player at the club, but he has neither scored nor provided an assist. Bassey has started regularly at left-back and has captained the team under new manager Álvaro Arbeloa.

Hull sit eighth with nine points from six matches, a run that includes a win over Manchester United on the opening day and a draw away at Chelsea. Ajayi has scored once for the club this season and has also been phenomenal in defence. Bookmakers rated Hull the division’s most likely relegation candidates before a ball was kicked this season, and they have since torn the script.

The pressure is on Fulham manager Arbeloa, who has taken two points from a possible 18 since succeeding Marco Silva in July 2026. Fulham lost 2-1 at Ipswich Town on October 10, and reports suggest he has as few as two games, starting with this one, to turn results around. All three Nigerians are available for selection.

In Turkey, Chidozie Awaziem’s Konyaspor visit Amedspor in the Super Lig, where he will have to deal with Gift Orban.

The 24-year-old Orban is joint top of the league scoring chart with seven goals in seven games, and he has also provided two assists. He joined Amedspor on loan from Hoffenheim in July 2026. Reports in Turkey say the club must complete a €3m purchase if he reaches 10 goals.

Awaziem, 29, is a centre-back for Konyaspor, who are 15th in the table.

Amedspor are third with 14 points from seven games and are unbeaten in five league matches, with three wins and two draws.

Fellow Nigerian winger, Yira Sor, has returned to full training after about six weeks out with an injury suffered against Trabzonspor and could be available. The 26-year-old had scored once in three league games before the setback.
