Court Remands Damilola Shoyemi in Kirikiri Over Alleged Cyberbullying and Death Threats Against Mohbad’s Widow and Son
Nearly three years after Mohbad’s death, the legal fallout from his passing is still generating fresh court dates and this time, it’s a woman named Shoyemi Damilola Titilayo facing the music.
Shoyemi was arraigned before the Magistrate Court sitting at 111, Birrell Avenue, Onike, Yaba, Lagos, over allegations of cyberbullying tied to the late singer’s widow, Wunmi (Omowunmi Aloba). According to the prosecution, Shoyemi and others allegedly produced a TikTok Live broadcast in which they accused Wunmi of murdering Mohbad. The prosecution further alleged that the same broadcast was used to call on members of the public to subject Wunmi and her son, Liam, to jungle justice allegations serious enough to bring formal death-threat-adjacent charges into the case.
The court granted Shoyemi bail but ordered that she be remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the fulfilment of her bail conditions, which include providing two sureties in the sum of ₦500,000 each. Until those conditions are met, she remains in custody.
