Cosmos quickly moved to distance both itself and São Paulo from the seizure, stating firmly that responsibility for the incident lies entirely with the Bolivian drivers involved, and confirming that a completely different vehicle had already been assigned to actually transport the team. True to that statement, Cosmos supplied São Paulo with an alternative bus, and the club’s delegation continued their travel schedule as planned, reportedly without even being made aware of the incident until after the fact.
São Paulo themselves have had no involvement in the case beyond the unfortunate coincidence of their branding being plastered across the vehicle in question.
